11 Απρ 2024 · In music, a “movement” refers to a distinct section or part of a larger musical composition, such as a symphony, concerto, or sonata. The key characteristics of a musical movement are its structural integrity, tempo and character related or contrasting keys.
Definitions must be set out regarding types of motion between two parts. Contrary motion occurs when the two voices move in opposite direction to each other by step or leap. Oblique motion occurs when one voice stays the same and the other voice moves up or down by step or leap.
For the vertebral column, flexion (anterior flexion) is an anterior (forward) bending of the neck or body, while extension involves a posterior-directed motion, such as straightening from a flexed position or bending backward.

Flexion – bending a joint. This occurs when the angle of a joint decreases. For example, the elbow flexes when performing a biceps curl.
Forward and backward movements fall into this plane (flexion, extension). The frontal plane also lies vertically but divides the body into anterior and posterior parts. Lateral movements that involves the limbs moving away and towards the body fall under this plane (adduction, abduction).
