The Florida Crest Peach Tree produces a very flavorful medium size peach. It is an ideal peach for the Deep South with low chill hour requirements. An early variety that ripens approximately 47 days before Elberta. Trees are 4-5′ with a 1/2″ caliper. Zones 6-10 Chill Hours: 400.

Peach trees reach an overall height of 10-15’ tall with a spread of 5-10’ feet wide. As seen in Figure 1, the trees have a bowl-shaped branching structure. Trees should flower in February- March with fruit setting in April to May (Figure 2).
The Flordacrest Peach Tree (Prunus persica 'FlordaCrest') is a deciduous fruiting tree that produces large amounts of extremely flavorful medium-sized peaches great for use in canning or eating off the tree. The skin is a dark yellow to light red blush with a yellow flesh.
Prunus persica FlordaCrest peach tree size can get up to 12-15 feet tall and wide making it a perfect peach fruit tree for small spaces. Produces fruit in 1-3 years after planting. A slow-release fertilizer or 10-10-10 fertilizer will help the planted peach tree’s growing conditions.
Peach trees vary in their growth habit, and often a combination of tree vigor, flower type, and leaf structure can be used to identify cultivars. Trees can have semi-spreading (e.g., 'UFOne') or semi-upright growth (e.g., 'Flordaprince') and can be either very vigorous (e.g., 'UFSun') or moderately vigorous (e.g., 'Sunbest') in canopy growth.
