As the nation's largest state nursery and landscape association, FNGLA represents Florida's nursery and landscape industry which generated $31.4 billion total output sales in 2020 and directly employed 266,000+ people.
FNGLA dates back to 1952 and today is a vibrant network of professionals who work in unison to shape the future of Florida's nursery and landscape industry. Through the association's activities, FNGLA strives to advance member's business interests and enhance their success.
Growers now recognize at least two native ecotypes in Florida: one which prefers moist pinelands, with blooms that are typically bright orange; and another which thrives in excessively well-drained sandhills and scrub, with blooms that exhibit more color variation from yellow-orange to orange-red.
The ARS Floriculture and Nursery Research Initiative (FNRI) was presented to congress in 1998 by the American Nursery Landscape Association and Society of American Florists (SAF).
