Perhaps I need to buy my shoes from Red Wing or Wilcox. I wear high-quality boots too--I'll think twice before subsequent purchasing of Florsheim Shoes online.
Florsheim is a great heritage company but since they started shipping over to China and India the quality has taken a huge hit. As a result the only worthwhile purchases from them are from the limited line, imperial line, or Duckie Brown collection. For the uses you are suggesting, I'm going to beat the drum again and suggest the Veblen.

Florsheim is a brand I've worn before, so I trusted that a size 11 would fit perfectly. And indeed it did. These boots are sturdy but not stiff - they have the perfect amount of give and wiggle that could probably accommodate a half size off in either direction.
Reviewed at Florsheim Very comfortable boots, easy to slip on and off with the side zipper, looks professional, very pleased with my purchase. They appear and feel like good quality boots.
