When pumping from a well or stream, raise the inlet hose a few inches off the bottom to avoid sucking in sand, silt or pebbles (which can disable the impeller). Install a strainer or the Pud-L-ScoopTM (included only with Model FP0F360AC) to protect the pump from large solids .
