You get a temporary travel permit stamp on your passport when approved, but the FM3 is not issued until you apply at the Migracion office in your new home in Mexico.
The FM 3 visa, short for “Forma Migratoria 3,” is a non-immigrant visa enabling citizens of other countries to enter and stay in Mexico for up to one year. Unlike a tourist visa, it caters primarily to work, business, and study purposes, allowing you to travel freely, work legally, get a college degree, and live in Mexico temporarily.
