2 Δεκ 2022 · You can set which way this behaves in System Prefs > Keyboard > Keyboard. 'Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys'. Whichever way you choose, holding Fn/F-key will activate the opposite mode temporarily.

18 Σεπ 2009 · The only way is to disable system-wide (that includes the notebook's keyboard) the custom control keys, and tell OS X that you just want to use it as normal F1-F12/F16 keys. Go to System Preferences > Keyboard. Check the box that says "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys".
5 Νοε 2023 · Hi, few days ago i encountered an issue is that Fn key to switch language input is not working on wireless keyboard ( macbook air keyboard works fine) . I used the the keyboard viewer to check and fn key is not pressing on.

In the new window, click the Keyboard tab and click on the " Modifier Keys " button in the right bottom corner. On the pop-up dialogue, tap the box next Function (Fn) key. Choose the fn function from the list, then click OK.
To use the function keys for keyboard shortcuts, you must also press and hold the Fn key or the Globe key (depending on your Mac model or if you’re using a Magic Keyboard). For example, to show the desktop, you must press Fn-F11 or -F11.
