While pressing the Channel button at the back of the base station, plug in the base station’s power adapter. Once the base station is detected by the SteamVR app, the firmware update will start automatically.

I tried to update my Base Stations 2.0 via Bluetooth but it didn't work. A day later I wanted to try it again but the only thing I got on both was a red led. A firmware file would be awesome. I believe you can find the firmware in the SteamVR folders.
If there is an update for the Base Station 2.0 then it will update with a special Bluetooth module that is inside the Index headset similar to what the Knuckles uses for data. There is a micro USB but that is for unbricking and wouldn't worry about it.
After installing the Bluetooth driver, restart the computer and relaunch the SteamVR app. Click > Devices > Update Device, and then select the base stations. If you see the icon, mouse over it to check if the firmware is out of date. If so, click Update Device. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.
21 Ιαν 2024 · Do not use these instructions; update firmware by going to SteamVR > Devices > Update Firmware. Be sure to wait until device has been completely recognized by OS after plugging in and driver installed before attempting updates.
