The Electronic Locking Differential (ELD) system allows the operator to lock the rear differential side gears. When the ELD is engaged both rear wheels turn at the same speed, providing added traction on slippery and/or off road surfaces. The operator can engage the ELD per the charts below:
24 Αυγ 2019 · After studying your diagram I checked the plug from axle to wire harness on the drivers side sort of above the shock. I found a wire that had chafed and worn through. Cleaned and soldered the wire and we are all fixed.
10 Δεκ 2019 · I had to get a new one because the part that the bolt goes through to hold it into the differential housing broke. And I pulled the old one out (not knowing that it had wires connected to the it on the inside of the pumpkin).
How Does the Electronic Locking Differential Work You can activate the differential electronically and shift it on the fly within the operating speed range. The electronic differential disengages when the vehicle speed exceeds a set value, and reengages when the vehicle speed goes below a set value.
The ELD will lock and unlock when the internal gears are aligned and low torque load is placed on the differential. To aid alignment, drive the vehicle in a straight line with the accelerator pedal released or at low load.
