30 Μαΐ 2009 · The torque converter hub seal in the E4OD and 4R100 is well known to leak when they get hot. Once they cool down they reseal and work fine again until the next time they get hot. There are a couple of ways to fix it. The best way is to pull the trans and replace the seal with an aftermarket seal. There is one that is a lot better than the OEM seal.
12 Μαΐ 2019 · The leak may not have to be fixed. Once the trans cools off the seal will work again and it won't leak until it overheats again. Backing a load up a slope is the ideal way to make this seal overheat and leak. The way to make sure this doesn't happen again is to back the load up a hill in 4x4 low.
23 Οκτ 2014 · If you see no visible signs of damage to the transmission and/or the leak is coming from a spot where two pieces are bolted together but there is no gasket, chances are it's a seal that's gone bad. Unfortunately, almost all seals will require pulling most of the transmission to replace them.
