  1. 9 Δεκ 2003 · I've owned a foredom (1/4hp I think) with the collet handpiece for about 10 years and have been more that happy with it. The only complaint is the electronics in the foot control havn't held up well. I do a fair amount of buffing with 4" wheels and I guess the foot control just can't handle the current load.

  2. Foredom flex shaft tools are better than Dremels. The motor isn't in your hand, so it's less fatiguing to use. The quick-change handpieces are handy, but they're more fragile; the Jacobs chuck style is more durable and take any size tool, but they're less concentric.

  3. I can't speak for the Wecheer, but in my opinion Foredom is excellent when it comes to customer service. I too agree you get what you pay for. I have a Foredom, Dremel and a Ram that have all given me years of service with some hard use.

  4. 8 Ιαν 2008 · I have both and find both do a good job. The one cited above is 1/8th inch chuck and the foredom handles 1/4 ich shank tools. Smokey Mountain Woodcarvers had a Foredom kit 5240 for $250 with the 44T handpiece that fits the legacy mill recently and I added to the tool collection.

  6. 26 Ιαν 2022 · Foredom is great. I have used Foredom flex-shafts for over 30 years. The old ones (going back to 80s) were really high quality and lasted for years, some are still going. I have purchased some of the newer, cheaper ones for my jewellery classes and as a budget model, they work fine.
