In the AWS CLI, command line options are global parameters you can use to override the default configuration settings, any corresponding profile setting, or environment variable setting for that single command.

Command line options can be used to override default configuration settings for a single operation, but cannot be used to specify credentials. The following settings can be specified at the command line. --profile – name of a profile to use, or "default" to use the default profile. --region – AWS region to call.
