The museum is closed on Mondays, with the exception of the following federal holidays and observances: Monday, May 26, 2025 – Memorial Day OPEN. July 4, 2025 – Independence Day OPEN. Tuesday, November 11, 2025 – Veterans Day OPEN.
The Soldier Store is located near the museum’s entrance and is open during regular museum hours. Heritage Walk, lined with state and territorial flags and commemorative pavers, leads from the museum to Inouye Field, where graduation ceremonies are held for Army trainees.
It preserves and exhibits one of the greatest collections of military artifacts in the world, with 190,000 square feet of galleries standing on a 200-acre tract just outside the United States...
More than 300,000 Georgians served in the military from 1941-1945 and thousands of civilians worked in rapidly expanding defense industries. Trail visitors at the NIM can explore an authentic World War II Company Street to see what life was like for trainees at nearby Fort Benning during the war.

The National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center is a museum located in Columbus, Georgia, just outside the Maneuver Center of Excellence at Fort Moore (formerly Fort Benning). The 190,000-square-foot (18,000 m 2) museum opened in June 2009.
