3 Απρ 2017 · Foxes are omnivorous animals that are members of the Canidae family. In a narrow sense, the name refers to the ten or so species of “true” foxes (genus Vulpes), particularly the red, or common, fox (Vulpes vulpes), which resided in both the Old and New Worlds.
Foxes are mammals that look like small, bushy-tailed dogs. Different kinds of foxes favor different habitats. The red fox likes farmland. The gray fox lives in forests. The silver fox is found in cold areas. The Arctic fox lives near the North Pole. Foxes have pointed ears, short legs, and a narrow snout.
Humans view these animals as clever, determined, intelligent, and mischievous. Foxes are mammals that are closely related to dogs and jackals. They all belong to the dog family, Canidae. Scientists have classified 10 or so species of foxes in the genus Vulpes.
