Fox fur is a type of hunter fur obtained from pyre foxes, requiring level 57 Hunter to hunt. It can be used to craft small meat pouches at level 35 Crafting , or be used in crafting mixed hide legs at level 71 Crafting.
The pyre fox is a creature found in the Avium Savannah, south-east of the Hunters' Guild, that players can capture with the Hunter skill at level 57 by using a deadfall trap. Setting up a deadfall trap requires a knife and logs, and optionally baiting it with a jerboa tail.
The fox is a variant of the beaver pet that can be permanently unlocked by using the fox whistle, a rare reward from the Poachers Forestry event, on the beaver. Once unlocked, the fox can be freely transformed between the beaver and fox versions, as well as the pheasant if that variant has been unlocked as well.
The new update has been great, but the pyre fox hunter area needs to be expanded. Four spots is not nearly enough when every single world is taken. We should also get some oak trees closer than the fairy ring, because i had to catch well over 300 foxes at one point just to get the rumor item. PLEASE JAGEX.

For example, the Pyre Fox deadfall task can be given by any tier, while the Sabre-toothed kebbit deadfall task can be given by Novice, Adept, and Expert. Do lower-tiered rumors until those lower-tier hunters are offering one of your "bad" tasks.
