The Fram Museum is located at Bygdøy, a short distance from the centre of Oslo and is easily reached by bus or, in the summer season, by ferry from the City Hall quayside. We focus on polar history, our centrepiece beeing FRAM, the strongest wooden polar ship ever, dating from 1893.
The Fram Museum tells the exciting adventure story of Norwegian polar navigation through the Fram ship, built in 1892. The ship served on three major polar expeditions, going further north and further south than any other ship in history.
