28 Σεπ 2023 · Thanks to advances in machine learning and neural networks, stem separation software has come on in leaps and bounds in recent years, and today’s AI-powered tools are capable of lifting relatively clean and highly usable stems from almost any mix.
I just found out about a free AI tool, Hybrid Demucs, which does an uncannily good job of separating the vocals, drums, bass and the rest into their own respective stems. The quality is IMO much better than Spleeter, which most people would probably be most familiar with since RX, Moises.ai etc use it.
I'll also mention that iZotope RX's music separation tool is--disappointingly--not any better than the free options available, and in fact I'd rank it lower than Demucs and Song Donkey (EDIT 2: Song Donkey isn't free for full length tracks), and it's probably about equivalent to Moises or Spleeter.
