Our extended-range forecasts provide an overview of potential weather conditions up to 46 days ahead, focussing mainly on average conditions week by week and how different they are from a long-term (model-based) climatology.
Some charts and data are publicly available free of charge. Since summer 2023, we have also been developing a machine learning model, the AIFS . This model is currently in its beta phase, and experimental runs are available on our charts pages.
30 Οκτ 2023 · You can access free of charge ECMWF datasets in a number of ways: Using the web-based data browser you can download small amounts of public data and WMO essential data. Using the public Web API service - t his is the preferred way to download data.

Forecast charts (surface and upper air) - showing a selection of individual and combined parameters, to 15days forecast lead-time. Postage stamp charts - to show the output of all ensemble members for a few parameters at several forecast lead-times.
This edition of the Forecaster User Guide applies to the ECMWF Integrated Forecast System (IFS) and meteorological products after June 2023 using IFS Cycles 48r1 and later. We are also now starting to add guidance on the AIFS (a data-driven / machine learning model).
