Tangram Heightmapper. This is an elevation data browser, which "auto-exposes" the display so that the highest and lowest visible elevations are white and black. The result is a grayscale heightmap, suitable for use as a displacement map in 3D applications.

I've downloaded quite a few maps that react badly to water(I.e lakes/rivers) when added I'll try this later and let you how it goes but of the bat your height maps look sick AF.
Sea level is set to 200 meters, Height scale to 50%, below sea level to 5 meters and all land is raised. By setting only land rise, and below sea level to 10, the land will raise 10 meters out of the sea. In the map editor from cities, the sea level can also be adjusted.
WGEN - a simple heightmap generator. There are a lot of great terrain generators out there but most of them have a free version with a terrain size limitation. This is a much simpler generator, but it can export maps as big as you want. Continent example, using a rough hill pattern and a high frequency FBM :

I made a Tutorial on how to create your own heightmaps. License is CC0, free for personal and commercial use. Just don't try to sell them as is, please.
