Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services of Florida, Inc. offers a program in basic sign language for anyone losing their hearing, or who just wants to learn a new way to communicate. Classes are also available for supervisory and managerial personnel.

ASL Classes 1 - 5. DHHC offers ASL sign language classes in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Bonita Springs/Naples, Lehigh Acres, Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda and online by Zoom technology.

Classes are held once a week, for 2 hours. Semesters are 6 weeks long. Level 1 is a 6 week session focusing on the introduction to American Sign Language and Deaf Culture. You will develop a strong basic ASLary (OUR word for vocabulary), syntax, and grammar.

Some ASL classes are currently online through Zoom. If you are new to ASL, we suggest starting with Introduction to ASL & Vocabulary, followed by ASL 1, 2, & 3. ASL Storytelling is recommended for those who are taking ASL 1 to 3, or who are already signers.
