Educators are responsible for submitting an Act 48 Request Form to Better Kid Care after receiving their professional development certificate of completion. You only need to email or mail the Act 48 Request Form (other material not needed).
If your period is longer than 5 years, a legislative extension may have been applied. More information on the details of specific extensions can be found on our FAQ page. Required Hours: A total of 180 hours is always required for Act 48. Act 45/PIL required hours are variable.

There are two ways to earn Act 48 credits at Lehigh University. #1 Take credited coursework at Lehigh University. Review the information below before requesting hours: To fulfill the 180-hour Act 48 requirement, only two 3-credit courses, or other combination of 6 total credits, need to be reported.
