I have downloaded about 20 music players and tried each one out, and in this post I'll be sharing my opinions on each. Note that I'm not audiophilic. My main need in a music player is one that is well-made with an easy to use user interface that lets me browse through my music library with ease.
Ad-free with additional noise generators you can optionally purchase. Timer included. Lots of different choices for white noise, other ambient noises too with oodles of presets and customisability. The website is even better, just for the sheer amount of choices you have to browse.
Activate one or more sounds and adjust the volume slider to create an always different and pleasing sound environment. With Noisli you can boost your focus and enhance your productivity or just lay back, listen, and enjoy falling asleep. myNoise is great and it's also available at myNoise.net from your browser.
I have an android phone and have tried the Sleep Sounds app, the Sleep Aid Fan app, and the Ambience: sleeping sounds app. They all stop randomly in the middle of the night. Mostly between 4:00 and 5:30am.
Black player is pretty simple and sleek. I've been using it for over a year now. There's a free and paid version
Depends what you want out of it, really. For local playback, I recommend Poweramp, though I can't recall what limitations it has on the free version. It has a decent equalizer and very good sound output options, as well as support for milkdrop visualizations.
Best free music apps? Hey all, just cancelled my spotify account and have been looking for a good app for just uploading .mp3's and such for listening to music locally. There are a lot of them in the app store and I'd love to know if anyone here has any good recommendations!
