Freespire is a community-driven Linux distribution currently owned by PC/Open Systems LLC. It is derived from Linspire and is composed mostly of free, open-source software while providing users the choice of including proprietary software, including multimedia codecs, device drivers, and application software.
Freespire was once a community-run Linux distribution sponsored by Linspire. Freespire was discontinued in 2008. Starting in 2017 Freespire became a free operating system based on Ubuntu and run by PC/OpenSystems LLC. Freespire features the Xfce desktop environment.

29 Ιαν 2009 · I have VirtualBox 2.2.4 r 47978, Windows XP as the host, 1 Gig of Ram, 160 Gig HD, and i want to install a Linux Freespire as a Virtual Machine on the same HD. I allocated 493 MegBytes of RAM and 80 Gigbytes of HD to Freespire Virtual Machine.
