But by no means is the ghost pepper a slouch when it comes to heat. It certainly hasn't lost any of its potency (but more on that later).
Bhut Jolokia, or Ghost Pepper, is a hybrid Capsicum chinense and Capsicum frutescens hybrid that is cultivated in Northeast India. In 2007, this pepper was named the world hottest pepper.
