15 Ιαν 2022 · Located in the historic borough of Frogner, within the baroque Frogner Park, it contains 212 bronze and granite statues exploring humanity. The permanent sculpture installation, which includes statues, fountains, and bridges, was created by the famous Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland between 1924 and 1943.
The sculpture area in Frogner Park covers 80 acres (320,000 m 2) and features 212 bronze and granite sculptures, all designed by Gustav Vigeland. The Bridge was the first part to be opened to the public, in 1940.
22 Ιουλ 2014 · The next stop on my travel agenda was Frogner Park in Oslo, Norway to see the whimsical statues created by Gustav Vigeland I’d read about! It was exactly the kind of place I envisioned with broad spans of green lawn, a beautiful fountain, and quirky statues!
The Frogner Park is also called The Vigeland Park thanks to the permanent installation of its sculptures. In this beautiful park you can admire Gustav Vigeland’s lifework: an incredible amount of statues made of several materials, including bronze, granite, and wrought iron.
