5 Νοε 2023 · The monolith is a striking centrepiece of Oslo's Vigeland Park. Rising distinctively against the lush greenery of Frogner Park, it asserts itself as a defining image of Oslo. Perhaps with the one exception of The Scream, it's the most recognisable piece of art in Oslo.
We had the chance to visit Frogner Park in Oslo, draped in snow. It offered a breathtaking canvas for Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland's masterpieces. The sculptures, blanketed in white, radiated a serene grandeur against the wintry backdrop, evoking a profound sense of awe and wonder.
Frogner Park has Norway's biggest collection of roses; a total of 14,000 plants of 150 different species. Frogner Stadium and Frognerbadet open-air pool are located in the corner of the park that faces Majorstua. In the corner near Frogner plass you can visit Frogner Manor House and the Museum of Oslo.
