Having beaten Renna's questline I got her hat that powers up frost sorceries. My understanding is that there... Aren't a lot of frost magic in the game. Are there any staple ones that don't suck and can be used throughout the game, or is an ice mage build just not viable?

The Moon spells are strong, but are very expansive for common enemies. They absorb any sorcery in the projectile's path and cause a 10% magic resist debuff. The dark moon also causes a lot of frost buildup, so it's easy to set this debuff to 30%
I disagree entirely, but I want the focus to be on frost sorceries. Glintstone icecrag does more damage then comet and is 3x less FP, combine that with frostbite and how quick it casts it is nuts. Can melt dragons pretty quickly.
