12 Μαΐ 2020 · • High specificity: Enzymes have the capablility to recognize extremely minute and specific differences in substrate as well as product molecules and can even distinguish between mirror images of any molecule (stereoisomers or enantiomers) e.g., D-Galactose and L-Galactose.
9 Ιαν 2022 · It plays an important role in cell expansion, maintains turgor pressure in plants, aids in cellular osmoregulation, helps in opening and closing of stomata, and activates more than 60 enzymes (Hawkesford et al. 2012). It has been noticed that plants under drought stress have a higher internal need for K (Cakmak 2005; Wang et al. 2013).
In this review, we summarize current understanding of K and P transport and signaling in plants, mainly taking Arabidopsis thaliana and rice (Oryza sativa) as examples. We also discuss the mechanisms coordinating transport of N and K, as well as P and N.
5 Ιουλ 2013 · The major classes of plant hormones are specialized metabolites with exquisitely tailored perception and signaling systems, but equally important are the enzymes that control the dose and exposure to the bioactive forms of these molecules.
2 Δεκ 2020 · Metabolite rhythms are driven by enzymes, a major proportion of which rely on organic coenzymes to facilitate catalysis. The B vitamin complex is the key provider of coenzymes in all organisms. Emerging evidence suggests that B vitamin levels themselves undergo daily oscillations in animals but has not been studied in any depth in plants.
1 Ιαν 2001 · Higher plants synthesize a range of enzyme inhibitors that function by binding into the active site of the target enzyme, thereby preventing the approach of the natural substrate. As with substrate binding, inhibitor binding requires elements of shape and chemical complementarity between the inhibitor and the enzyme.
