7 Φεβ 2014 · Maximum grip is the mean of three trials. Initially reviewed by Michele Lamb, OTR in 11/2013. Must follow the standardized testing protocol and testing position for reliability and normative data. Changes in body position from protocol will result in altered grip strengths (Richards et al., 1996)
UBACKGROUND: U Hand-grip strength is an indicator of overall strength and a predictor of important outcomes. Up-to-date, population-specific reference values for measurements of grip strength are needed to properly interpret strength outcomes.
31 Αυγ 2018 · The authors present grip-strength reference values using summary statistics (mean, standard deviation, and percentile). The mean grip strength ranged from 49.7 kg for the dominant hand of men 25 to 29 years of age to 18.7 kg for the nondominant hand of women 75 to 79 years of age.
The primary purpose of this study was to establish clinical norms for adults aged 20 to 75+ years on four tests of hand strength. A dynamometer was used to measure grip strength and a pinch gauge to measure tip, key, and palmar pinch.
Whether a clinician is accustomed to measuring grip strength in pounds or kilograms, the reference values presented in Tables 3 and 4 should prove useful. By comparing an individual patient's grip force with the table means, his or her strength relative to average can be ascertained.
Revised grip strength values with the Jamar dynamometer for the dominant and non-dominant hands combined in healthy females (a) (n = 355, 90.1% right-handed and males (b) (n = 365, 86.6% right-handed).
23 Φεβ 2022 · They found that the handle at position 2 was the best position (maximal grip strength) for 70% of participants. They found the mean difference between grip strength at position 2, and each participant’s best position was 0.8kg (2% of mean maximal grip strength).
