24 Οκτ 2022 · Error 01 can be caused by a few things since it relates to a communication issue between the lens and the camera body plus you were able to confirm that the lens will not auto focus. You have already cleaned the contacts on the back of the lens which is what we recommend.

11 Μαΐ 2021 · I've done the googling, and a little bit of debugging to diagnose what instigates this error on my camera (5d4) and lens (24-70ii): any time I attempt to take a photo with aperture less than 2.8, at a focal length of greater than 24 it will error out.
4 Νοε 2019 · I've been getting the "Err 01" message on my Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L lens for a week. AFAIK, it seems to happen whenever I stop the lens down, not wide open at 2.8. The shutter clicks but I get the error message on the rear screen.
22 Αυγ 2018 · 1. As you stated, the Err 01 error is telling you that there's a communication problem between the body and lens. This is often a result of dirty contacts on the body, lens or both. Other times this error occurs because of faulty pins in either the body or lens.
5 Δεκ 2021 · Yesterday my 24-70 started giving me an ERR 01 error message when shot on any aperture other than f2.8. It appears that it's one of the more common issues with this particular lens, so I was wondering if anyone here had experienced it, and what the likely repair cost is either through Canon or an authorised repairer in the UK.
19 Ιουν 2021 · I have the same issue exactly with my 99% new, EF 24-70/F4L IS USM. It does need a new internal flex cable, so a repair is being needed. At 24mm it does work fine, but other focal lengths like 50mm, 70mm does give me always the Err 01 message onto my 5D II. I'd sent it in for repair into early 2024.
