Interactive Map The Upper Watershed. Galveston Bay has two large “upper watersheds” with a combined area of nearly 20,000 square miles upstream of Lake Houston on the San Jacinto River and Lake Livingston on the Trinity River.
The bay has an average depth of 6 feet (2 m) and a maximum undredged depth of 10 feet (3 m). [37] The Galveston Bay system consists of four main bodies of water: Galveston Bay proper (upper and lower), Trinity Bay , East Bay , and West Bay . [ 38 ]
