That was my 1st thought, but looking at the raw email, all of the addresses point to Garmin.com and everything looks legit.
If you're worried it may be a scam I'd suggest calling them using the number on their site to supply the information. Also, what email address did they use? If it was actually from them it would come from an @garmin.com address or something similar.
Those phishing emails have been around for years. They're not specifically related to the Garmin attack. They tend to use older password databases (the emails I get always reference a password I haven't used in years).
Look closely at the sender’s email address (“From”). The email may appear to come from Garmin but the actual address is not garmin.com although it may closely resemble a valid address.
