I use google maps a lot on carplay, but the Garmin GPS unit I have allows you to upload different maps to use with no data. Mexico, for example, or maps of BLM or National Forest areas that won't work on Carplay.
On average 40 min of workout without GPS and 80 min of walking with GPS every day. Other than that I turned off AOD, wifi, BT, pulse ox and I get six days. If I turned everything on as I had it with Apple Watch, I’d get 3 or 4 days maximum.
Most models are available with or without that, for example 245 or 245M (both having only breadcrumbs maps), or 945 (having full maps and lots of other features). And the Fenix is available as Pro and Non-Pro (Maps/Music vs no Maps/no Music), and Solar and Non-Solar.
