Have a look/listen to this performance of a G major scale and its relative minor – E minor: G major Relative Minor. The two keys are clearly different because they start on a different tonic note and one scale is major (sounds “happy”) whilst the other is minor (sounds “sad”).
The G♭ Major scale has the notes C♭, D♭, E♭, F, G♭, A♭, and B♭. Major keys, along with minor keys, are a common choice for popular songs. The three most important chords, built off the 1st, 4th and 5th scale degrees are all major chords (G♭ Major, C♭ Major, and D♭ Major).
The relative minor of B major is G-sharp not A-flat. Same warning goes for keys that have flats. How do you find the relative major key from the minor key? To find the relative major key from a minor, take the first note of your minor key and go up three half-steps. The note you land on is now the first note of your major scale.

Those notes are: F G A Bb C D E. As you can see, it has one flat note: Bb. F Major in the Treble Clef. Here are all the notes of F major scale in the treble clef, ascending and descending.

Choose a key whose key signature (or scale notes) you remember and work out these closely related keys. If you play chords, try changing between the chords of these keys.
11 Ιαν 2024 · The relative minor scale to the F major scale is the D minor scale. The D minor scale uses the same notes as the F major scale but it starts on D! This means the pattern of tones and semitones (whole steps and half steps) will be slightly different.
