In New York, you must be at least 19 years of age to take a GED test. If you are 16, 17, or 18 you must get approval to test. You will need to complete an Age Eligibility form which is located within the application when you create your online GED account.

We are funded by the NYS Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Grant which allows us to offer adult education classes tuition-free.
Individuals are eligible to take the New York State (NYS) High School Equivalency (HSE) Exam if they meet the following conditions: Test takers do not currently possess a high school or HSE diploma in the United States or its territories. Test takers have resided in NYS for at least thirty days.
