6.5 Gender Socialization Inside Family and Childhood. Gender socialization occurs through four major agents of socialization: family, schools, peer groups, and mass media. Each agent reinforces gender roles by creating and maintaining normative expectations for gender-specific behavior.
Identifying departmental values toward, and access to, curriculum on GAH in family medicine residencies can identify future directions for improving resident education. This study examines the current status of GAH training and curriculum in family medicine residency programs through the perspective of program directors.
