Cain and Abel each make an offering to God. God accepts Abel's offering but not Cain's, making Cain angry. Cain then lures Abel into a field and kills him. When God questions Cain about Abel's whereabouts, Cain denies knowing. God punishes Cain by cursing the ground and making him a fugitive.
