The state motto of Georgia is "Wisdom, Justice, and Moderation." All State Mottos. Although Georgia legislature has never made the motto official, it appears on the state flag, seal, and the Georgia quarter.
Description. The original seal from 1777 was specified as such: "The great seal of this State shall have the following device: on one side of a scroll, whereon shall be engraved “The Constitution of the State of Georgia;” and the motto “Pro bono publico.”

The other side of the seal, though, has the inscription "Agriculture and Commerce," offering a choice of mottoes.
