The seven-acre gardens that surround the Glen Burnie House are both impressive and intimate. Designed by MSV benefactor Julian Wood Glass Jr. and his partner at the time, R. Lee Taylor , the creation of these formal gardens began in 1956 and evolved over the latter half of the twentieth century.
Join us for an unforgettable summer of discovery! Ready for more information? Camps are Monday – Friday unless otherwise noted, with morning camps running from 9am-12pm and afternoon camps from 1pm-4pm. Each camp day will include a snack time and a minimum of 30 minutes of play at the museum.
The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley anchors a regional history museum complex that includes the Glen Burnie Historic House and six acres of spectacular gardens. Designed by architect Michael Graves, the 50,000-square-foot museum boasts four galleries and a museum store.

Incredible glass sculptures grace the beautiful Glen Burnie Gardens at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, Virginia this summer and fall. Thirty delicate kiln-fired glass sculptures are the handiwork of artist Craig Mitchell Smith of Charlevoix, Michigan.
