4 Μαΐ 2023 · The authors show that adipose de novo lipogenesis is supported by glucose, and the pentose phosphate pathway provides NADPH, while hepatic lipogenesis mainly uses acetate and lactate, with...
Lipogenesis is a process that converts carbohydrates and other substrates into fatty acids, which are then stored as TAGs. Key enzymes involved in lipogenesis are exquisitely regulated by...
4 Μαΐ 2023 · Here we show using stable isotope tracing in mice that de novo lipogenesis in adipose is supported by glucose and its catabolism via the pentose phosphate pathway to make NADPH.
Below we discuss the different pathways involved in lipogenesis and how they are altered in metabolic diseases, particularly NAFLD and type 2 diabetes (T2DM). Figure 1.
1 Ιαν 2019 · Excess dietary carbohydrate (glucose) and amino acids can be utilized to synthesize triacylglycerol in a process known as lipogenesis. Acetyl CoA, synthesized from glucose or amino acids, is used to produce fatty acids, which are subsequently esterified to form triacylglycerol.
The process in principle is simple, yet the individual metabolic pathways and the regulation of substrate fluxes through these pathways can be complex. Energy is derived when fuel substrates are oxidized to carbon dioxide and water in the presence of oxygen, generating adenosine triphosphate (ATP).
