17 Ιουλ 2024 · There are several ways to identify a GM 10-bolt axle, from the carrier type and size to the gearing, GM rear axle RPO codes, and plant codes. You will find most housings have a stamped code on the axle tube (1971 and later style shown).
21 Μαΐ 2009 · I will attempt to cover the necessary steps in building a differential for a GM 10 bolt rear end with an 8.5/8.6 ring gear. These basic steps should pertain to most GM rear differentials and if followed with leave you satisfied for many miles.

THIS IS FOR THE GM 8.5/8.6 REAR END (10 BOLT), however the principles discussed can be applied to any axle. If you are gearing a 4x4, gear the rear axle FIRST.
15 Νοε 2020 · GM 8.5" gear pattern. Swapping in 4.10's to my 8.5" 10 bolt. I am now in the process of setting up the gear pattern and shimming the pinion/carrier. I have a setup Pinion bearing so it is easy for me to pull it apart and change shims. I just needed a baseline for somewhere to go from to get things started.

25 Απρ 2010 · Here's a listing of the performance oriented rear axles as offered from the factory in various G-body vehicles. '83-'84 SS's had 7.5's with 3.42's and TH-350's. '85-'87 SS's had 7.625's with 3.73's and 200-4R's. '83 H/O 's had 7.5's with 3.73's.
