8 Μαρ 2010 · Since the purge valve vents from the fuel tank, if the valve itself is leaking you should get a code for "Rich at idle" , not lean. If the valve is cracked, or the hose from it to the intake is cracked/degraded you'll get the "Lean at idle" code.
I've replaced the purge pump (pita, but doable with no suspension disassembly), charcoal canister (cracked; no suspension removal), and the purge solenoid valve (under the hood by the dr side strut tower; 5 min job).

Most common problem with the vent valve. Common problems with the EVAP vent valve are: The EVAP vent valve becomes stuck open or closed.
20 Σεπ 2016 · As described above, there are typically three hoses attached to the canister: the EVAP vent solenoid, the fuel cell, and the EVAP purge solenoid. Remove all three of these hoses and clearly mark which hose attaches to the specific male fitting on the EVAP emissions control canister.
