I was part of the concept push, my first official work for DnD : ) I got to both design and do the final art for Tekeli-li, and was thrilled I was able to base him off of a striped hyena, as opposed to the classic spotted hyena most gnolls look like.

Tekeli-li (pronounced: /tɛkɑːˈlili/ teck-ah-LEE-lee[3]) was a gnoll vampire, and a former Fang of Yeenoghu that lurked in Icewind Dale during the 14th and 15th centuries DR.[1][2] Tekeli-li was once a mortal gnoll, who led his pack across the frozen lands of Icewind Dale.
When a gnoll's ravenous hunger is so great that it craves flesh and blood even after death, it can rise as a vampire to continue its feeding frenzy. A gnoll vampire is a savage predator that feeds on the blood of the living.
14 Ιουν 2021 · BEST BOY – Tekeli-li, a vampiric gnoll. I was super zazzed that I was able to base him off a striped hyena. Wanted to avoid just regular human vampire spawn, so I was also very excited to have the kobold vampires approved! #dnd5e
