I've been wanting to post this poem for a while. Yesterday it kept running through my mind and this morning as I was reading my e-mail, I discovered it is today's poem from the Poetry 180 project from the Library of Congress
17 Απρ 2011 · Then he got the idea to write a memoir about his life, except that it would be about his life through the lens of his obsession with football, full of his memories of specific football matches and how they made him feel at specific moments in his life.
There's such a simplicity and economy of words there which I adore, the informal tone of voice between her and her god, the way they have a sort of friendly banter back and forth, and even the way she gently chides her god as one would a child ("who knows where she picked that up").
