Eight state parks in western North Carolina remain closed until further notice. The following parks have at least partially reopened: Crowders Mountain, Gorges, Grandfather Mountain, Lake Norman, and Rendezvous Mountain. Visit ncparks.gov/closures for more information on the status of facilities.
Most North Carolina state parks are free to access. Entrance fees are charged at the Chimney Rock attraction and during peak season at Falls Lake, Jordan Lake, and Kerr Lake state recreation areas. Fees are charged for camping, facility reservations, swim passes, rentals, and permits.

Campers with reservations can access their site 24 hours a day through our St. Johns Rd access. From the intersection of Old Mountain Road and E Monbo Rd in the Troutman area, travel south approx. 4.3 miles on E Monbo Rd to St. Johns Rd. Turn left onto St. Johns and go 0.5 mile to State Park Road.
