Using the traditional academic performance definitions for letter grades, the GPA scale can be broken down as follows. The average GPA in high school is a 3.0, so anything higher than that is a good GPA. 3.7 to 4.0 - A range: Excellent Performance; 2.7 to 3.6 - B range: Good Performance; 1.7 to 2.6 - C range: Satisfactory Performance
