The Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument (GSENM) is a United States national monument protecting the Grand Staircase, the Kaiparowits Plateau, and the Canyons of the Escalante (Escalante River) in southern Utah.

Covering 1.9 million acres it was the largest National Monument (area of significant natural, cultural, historical, or scientific importance) in the United States.
Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument is located in southern Utah, approximately 290 highway miles south of Salt Lake City or 250 miles east of Las Vegas. Two paved roads provide access to the Monument: Highway 89 on the south and Highway 12 on the north.
