Greece, adhering to the generally recognised rules of international law, pursues the strengthening of peace and of justice, and the fostering of friendly relations between peoples and States.
Three years have already elapsed from this second revision, and in a few months the Parliament will celebrate the first thirty years of the life of the Constitution, with an exhibition meant to underpin the constitutional and political history of modern Greece.
Respect and protection of the value of the human being constitute the primary obligations of the State. Greece, adhering to the generally recognised rules of international law, pursues the strengthening of peace and of justice, and the fostering of friendly relations between peoples and States.
Fundamental Provisions. Section I: Form of Government. Article 1 [Parliamentary Democracy] Greece is a Parliamentary Democracy with a President as Head of State. Popular sovereignty is the foundation on which the form of government rests.
