Frank Edwin Wright III (born December 9, 1972), better known by his stage name Tré Cool, is a German-born American musician, best known as the long-time drummer for the rock band Green Day. [3] He replaced the band's former drummer, John Kiffmeyer, in 1990. [4]
Born as Frank Edwin Wright III, Green Day’s Tré Cool was born in 1972 in Frankfurt, Germany to American parents. Cool adopted his professional name at the young age of 12 when he was recruited to play drums by his neighbor Larry Livermore for the punk outfit The Lookouts.
On July 7, 2017, about 20 minutes before Green Day headlined Mad Cool, a festival in Madrid, an acrobat fell about 30 metres (98 ft) from a cage above the stage and died.
