His father, a concert violinist who worked with the Chicago Opera and the San Francisco Symphony, wanted Morey to pursue a career in classical music however Morey had other plans.
He had a son Gregory and a daughter Cathy with his wife Kay. Owned a nightclub/comedy club in New York City called the Playgoers Club, at 6th Ave. and 51st St. Appeared with the Roy Radin Vaudeville Review in the 1970s.
